Is challenge for You?
Want to change the course for your future? Need an environment that is away from negative influences so you can focus on positive choices?
Montana Youth Challenge is a voluntary program for young people who have dropped out of high school or are at-risk of dropping out. If this is you, we offer a proven path to turn your life around. There is no cost to families.
You must be prepared to complete 5 1/2 months in residence on our campus, located in Dillon, followed by a 12-month post-residential period.
Montana Youth Challenge is a partnership between the Montana National Guard and the State of Montana. To help student-cadets develop skills and habits that have held them back in the past. Our approach focuses on the whole person, including a wide variety of extra-curricular activities in addition to academics and vocational learning opportunities.
During the residential phase, you will develop essential skills and increase your potential for completing the full program with confidence. You may also have the opportunity to earn college credits.
During the post-residential phase, you further strengthen these skills and develop the awareness to continue making positive choices for your future. Completing high school level education (or equivalency) greatly improves positive life outcomes for young adults including: improves rates of employment, greater income earnings, lessons the probability of involvement with the criminal justice system, and creates longer life expectancy.
