ready to rise to the challenge?
Montana Youth Challenge is a free, voluntary program designed for young people who have left high school or are at risk of doing so. If you're ready to take control of your future, we offer a proven path forward.
This is not an easy program—and it's not supposed to be. With over 5½ months of living on campus in Dillon, you will be pushed outside of your comfort zone. You'll be expected to work hard, stay committed, and focus on forward progress. You will grow in ways you didn't think were possible. After graduation, you will have 12 months of continued support to help you stay on track.
As a student-cadet you will:
have the opportunity to earn high school credits for re-entry into high school
HiSET preparation and testing (for those not planning to return to high school)
build career skills and for some, opportunity to earn college credits
participate in hands-on learning, physical training, and team-building
gain confidence, discipline, and tools for lifelong success
Montana Youth Challenge is a partnership between the Montana National Guard and the State of Montana, built to help you succeed—not just academically, but personally and professionally.
Graduates of this program have the skills needed to go on to better jobs, higher incomes, healthier lifestyles, and bright futures. The challenge is real—but so are the transformations that come from it.
If you're ready to work hard and change your life, Montana Youth Challenge is ready for you.
