The Montana Youth Challenge Academy (MYCA) Wellness Policy reflects our commitment to supporting the physical, emotional, and educational well-being of our cadets. It guides nutrition, physical activity, health education, and other wellness-focused activities throughout the Academy.
Highlights:
Nutrition: Cadets enjoy nutritious meals that follow federal and state guidelines, with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and balanced choices.
Physcial Fitness: Cadets participate in daily physical activities, from fitness training to organized sports, to keep both body and mind strong.
Learn Healthy Skills: Cadets receive lessons in hygiene, stress management, substance awareness, and making smart life choices.
Give Back: Cadets engage in community service, learning the value of helping others while staying healthy themselves.
The Academy regularly evaluates the effectiveness of its wellness programs and implements improvements as needed. This policy is reviewed and updated routinely, with opportunities for feedback from cadets, parents, staff, and the community.
The Montana Youth Challenge Academy (MYCA) is obligated to have a procedure in place for receiving and processing civil rights complaints within our School Nutrition Program. Participants in our School Nutrition Program may communicate complaints by following the steps outlined in the Montana Office of Public Instruction Civil Rights Complaint Procedure for School Nutrition Programs (available by clicking here) and completing the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form (available by clicking here). Per the USDA Food and Nutrition Service, MYCA is required to forward all complaints to the USDA Office for review and resolution.
