REQUEST CADET COMMUNITY SERVICE SUPPORT

Service to Community is a core part of the Montana Youth Challenge Academy experience. Through hands-on service projects, cadets learn teamwork, responsibility, leadership, problem-solving, and the value of contributing to something larger than themselves.

Since MYCA began in 1999, cadets have completed more than 238,090 hours of service on projects throughout Montana. Their work supports communities while building confidence, practical skills, and a stronger sense of connection to the places they call home.

MYCA welcomes service-project requests from eligible non-profit organizations and groups whose work benefits Montana communities.

Projects must be safe, appropriate for a supervised group of cadets, and feasible within MYCA’s schedule.

How the Process Works

1. Submit a request. Complete the form below with information about your organization, project, location, preferred timeframe, and expected needs.

2. MYCA reviews the project. Our team will review your request to determine whether it is a good fit for cadet learning goals, available resources, and program scheduling.

3. We connect with you. If your project appears to be a fit, an MYCA staff member will contact you to discuss project details, logistics, safety considerations, and next steps.

4. Cadets serve alongside MYCA staff. Approved projects are completed by cadets under MYCA staff supervision.

Submitting a request does not guarantee project approval. MYCA considers community benefit, cadet safety, educational value, timing, available resources, and staff supervision needs when scheduling service projects.
